The J Visa
The J Visa for trainees provides international participants with opportunities for professional development, insight into American know-how in the field of training, and a greater understanding of American society and culture. J trainees are expected to share the cross-cultural and professional knowledge they have gained in the U.S. upon return to their home country at the end of the training. If you are a foreign national and wish to enter the U.S. to participate in training, you must be accepted by an officially designated organization that helps ensure that you and your training satisfy all visa requirements.
The F Visa
Any foreign national who has applied to and been accepted on a full-time basis to an academic education program which has been approved by the Immigration Service to accept F Students is eligible to apply for an F visa. The student must be proficient in English or engaged in English language courses leading to English proficiency. The foreign national must also demonstrate sufficient financial resources to study without having to work.
